Biography

Dr. Strain is the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Nursing Education and an Assistant Professor. Dr. Strain teaches undergraduate RN-BSN and graduate MSN classes at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology at Albright College, an Associate Degree in Nursing from Harcum College, a Master of Science in Nursing at Grand Canyon University, and a Doctorate of Higher Education Leadership from Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. The focus of her doctoral work was on student retention and mentoring. She has nursing experience at Christiana Hospital and Saint Francis Hospital. She specializes in stroke and wound care, as well as legal nurse consulting. 

Dr. Strain is a Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Change Champion for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She served on the Student Advocate Representative Council (StARs), an effort dedicated to supporting first-year students. Dr. Strain is the Vice President of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing Omicron Gamma Chapter at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. Dr. Strain is the Women’s Soccer Faculty Mentor and has interests in student retention, mentorship, and volunteerism.
